Why is Cheshire Voices for equality using this website?
This website is powered by a platform called EngagementHQ which is designed to help people have their say on matters that affect them, in a safe and moderated space. This site will help us reach more people and will enable everyone to have conversations in a safe and secure space. This will help us to accelerate our efforts in understanding the challenges faced by the community so that we can rally for change.
We have summarised a handful of the key benefits below:
Will we still be able to use the facebook page to engage?
Yes, the facebook group will remain for all ad-hoc sharing and communications. However, we always recommend checking Cheshire Voices before jumping into the facebook page to check whether what your looking for is already here e.g. a resource or the answer to a question.
How can I participate in a discussion?
To participate for the first time online, follow these 5 quick steps:
1. Sign up for Cheshire Voices by clicking on the 'register to participate' button
2. Choose a screen name and password
3. Complete a few optional questions so that we can get to know you
4. You will receive an email asking you to validate your email address
5. Return to the website and click the "Sign In" button
6. Go to the 'Tell us what you think' section of the website
Each time we launch a new engagement, we will provide clear instruction on how you can get involved.
Each project on Cheshire Voices will be a little unique depending upon the engagement level required for that project. Visit the project page that you are interested in and submit your feedback via the tools which may be available e.g. online discussion forums, quick polls, forms and surveys etc.
Why do I need to register?
By registering your screen name, email address and some optional questions, you will have access to participate in all of the discussions that are launched on the site without having to submit your details for each individual discussion. Asking these simple registration questions helps us to maintain a secure and respectful site for everyone to engage. The registration details you provide will be saved in a simple participant profile within the platform, EngagementHQ.
Registration is not mandatory so if you choose not to register, there will be some discussions that you won't be able to take part in unless you provide a screen name and email address.
Can I participate anonymously?
Yes, there will be some opportunities for you to engage anonymously via quick polls and surveys. On these occasions, we will make it clear that the engagement has been set up for anonymous participation. In these instances, you will not have to provide any personal information in order to participate.
Is my privacy protected?
Yes! Your privacy is absolutely protected, and we will only use your email to contact you with updates and to invite you to participate in consultations. Your email address will not be distributed to any third party or used for any other purposes.
